On October 19, 2007, DTSC approved one petition for review regarding sealing secondary containment walls and denied one petition for review that opposed testing used oil for PCB contamination. This facility is in phase 5 of the permit appeals process, as DTSC made a final permit decision. The permit will be revised to require application of a chemical-resistant coating to both the floor and walls of the secondary containment area in unit 1 and unit 2. The permit is now effective. The Final Appeals Decision and Order (Final Order) was issued on June 25, 2008.  DTSC’s Permit Appeals Officer granted review of twenty (20) appeal comments on June 29, 2007.  The Final Order contains analyses and determinations concerning the 20 appeal comments granted review.  The Final Order constitutes DTSC’s final permit decision pursuant to California Code of Regulations, title 22, section 66271.18.  The ISOCI facility permit is effective now, except for the permit conditions deleted, stayed, or remanded by the Final Order.
