What are mercury containing devices, and where can I dispose of them?
Some universal wastes, like mercury fever thermometers, barometers, dial-type thermastats and other devices that contain liquid mercury, are hazardous because they contain enough mercury to pose a health risk. Although these waste are classified as universal waste, please dispose of these items at your local Household Hazardous Waste facility or at a location specifically set up to accept these items like a pharmacy.
