Facility History

The Site was used as a treatment and storage facility for hazardous wastes from 1978 until 2000 under the names Plastic Materials, Inc. (PMI), Summit Environmental Corporation, and American Recovery, Inc. On June 30, 2000, the Department denied the permit application submitted by A-American Environmental, LLC and American Recovery Inc., thereby terminating the Facility’s authorization to operate. Bridge Finance LLC became the fee owner of the Property on July 1, 2005, as a result of completion of non-judicial foreclosure proceeding. On May 10, 2006, DTSC received a copy of a Land Use Covenant (LUC) that was recorded and sent to DTSC by the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder Office. The LUC is to restrict the use of the former American Recovery facility located at 3033 W. Mission Road, Alhambra to commercial/industrial use part of the closure of the facility.  The new facility owner, Bridge Finance LLC has completed the closure and corrective action activity and the closure certification report was received on May 11, 2006.
