Federal (EPA) ID Number
Generating more than 220 pounds (100 kg) of RCRA hazardous waste and/or 2.2 pounds (1 kg) of acutely hazardous waste per calendar month.
State ID Number
Generating less than 220 pounds (100 kg) of RCRA hazardous waste and/or 2.2 pounds (1 kg) of RCRA acutely hazardous waste per month, and any amount of a non-RCRA hazardous waste.
Permanent Federal (EPA) ID
Issued to people or businesses who routinely generate or handle hazardous waste.
Temporary Federal (EPA) ID
Issued to people or businesses who don’t normally handle hazardous waste.
Valid for 90 days.
Permanent State ID
Issued to people or businesses who routinely generate or handle hazardous waste.
Temporary State ID
Issued to people or businesses who don’t normally handle hazardous waste.
Valid for 90 days.
