The former Berg Metals Corporation site (Site), also known as the Berg Iron & Metal Corporation site or the Los Angeles Food Center, is located at 2652 Long Beach Avenue in Los Angeles, CA. The Site is roughly 10.6 acres, is completely covered by asphalt and concrete and has roads, parking areas, and several large, connected commercial warehouse buildings. It is in a primarily commercial/industrial area. Sources confirm that lead smelting operations were conducted at the Site, and that lead from lead-acid batteries was a source used in those operations.

This Site and surrounding areas are being evaluated by DTSC’s LABRIC Program.  More information regarding this site can be found in the EnviroStor Profile Report.
