Santa Susana Field Laboratory (SSFL) Home
Welcome to the California Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) website for the investigation and cleanup of environmental contamination at the Santa Susana Field Laboratory (SSFL).
SSFL is a roughly 2,850-acre site in Simi Valley where rocket engine testing and nuclear research took place. DTSC is the lead regulatory agency overseeing the cleanup along with multiple state, federal and local government agencies.
