Existing Laws and Regulations
Any business that produces or manages a waste must evaluate that waste. Evaluating waste means determining whether or not the waste is hazardous. Hazardous waste requires special handling and disposal to ensure protection of human health and the environment. In California, Department of Toxic Substances Control regulates identification and management of hazardous waste.
